Karyn's Trials and Tribulations with Installing Mods

This is my latest attempt to install a mod - in this case, it's Lots o Smileys.

Here's what happens when I try to use the Package Manager to browse for mods:

That also happens when I add a new server - but, since one can upload a package manually, it's only an annoyance, albeit one I would like to fix.

Here is what I was told to do to manually install the mod:

• Step 1: Download the file
• Step 2: Use admin to upload the Package
• Step 3: Activate the package
• Step 4: Goto Smileys Settings
• Step 5: Enable Customized Smileys
• Step 6: Enable Customized Message Icons
• Step 7: Smileys Sets
• Step 8: New Smiley Set
• Step 9: Name it Lots o Smileys and select the proper folder
• Step 10: Make it default and import the smileys from the directory
• Step 11: Apply and refresh your page to re cache

Step 1 was easy - I downloaded the file from SMF's Customization area.

Step 2: Use admin to upload the Package

Also fairly easy, once I realized you shouldn't first unzip the mod but have to leave it the way you downloaded it.
